Red Bull Sound Select Collaboration

So excited to share this today. Red Bull asked me to collaborate with them in the creation of album art for musical artists participating at the Red Bull Sound Select festival this year. This one is for the band In the Whale. The title for the EP is "Neighbors" and the music deals with trust and the quotidienne. This was my take on it. More coming soon.

Meet the artist selected for the TransVisiones|Alcobendas_2015 Residency Program at Centro de Arte Alcobendas (Spain).

Yuri Tuma (Sao Paulo, 1983) lives and works in Miami. He has had five solo exhibitions alongside Butter Gallery (2008 - 2013) and has participated in group shows and art fairs in New York, Shanghai and Sao Paulo. Tuma's main practice is photography, but has also collaborated in video, sculpture, fashion, installation art and painting.

Tuma will participate in a three-month residency at the Centro de Arte Alcobendas culminating with an exhibition during PHotoEspaña. In exchange, Julio Galeote, a photo-based artist from Madrid, Spain, has been awarded a visiting artist residency at ArtCenter/South Florida.

Stay tuned for more information about the projects these two artists will be developing as part of their residencies!

Interview for Elephant Magazine

"Tuma may be best described as an applied photographer, using photography as an instrument rather than a primary medium. Inversely and likewise, in an era of selfies and consistent social media, photography feels readily available, as much a tool as it is a trade."

So excited to share this interview by the beautiful Monica Uszerowicz for Elephant Magazine. Thank you <3
